Learning outcomes

To learn the different metabolic complications associated with morbid obesity and the changes following a rapid weight loss. To learn the protocols for a correct ria-alimentation following bariatric surgery and the possible adverse nutritional effects in the post-surgery period.

Course contents

The energy balance in morbid obesity. Screening and assessment of the metabolic and psychological profile. Psychological effects of weight loss. Quality of life in morbid obesity and in relation to weight loss. Post-surgical food intake.
