42969 - Illumination Engineering and Acoustics

Academic Year 2013/2014

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Cesena
  • Corso: Single cycle degree programme (LMCU) in Architecture (cod. 0881)

Learning outcomes

The course is devoted to the analysis of the basic knowledge of applied acoustics and lighting and of its main applications.

These subjects are important for the student to reach the ability of treating problems of applied acoustics and lighting.

Course contents

Acoustics: physical acoustics and main acoustic quantities - Sound propagation in outdoor and indoor spaces - Introduction to psychoacoustics and human hearing system - Sound pressure, intensity and power levels - Building acoustics: sound insulation and basic laws - Evaluation of the acoustic performance of buildings - Acoustic properties of materials: sound absorbing and sound insulation - Building acoustics: sound insulation in buildings and of building elements - Laws and standards on applied acoustics - Measurement instrumentation.
