«Pace veterum»: The Prologues of Jerome to the Vulgata (with an appendix on the Vorreden zur Bibel of Martin Luther).
Readings/Bibliography
The students will receive the texts and the bibliography at the beginning of the course.
Teaching methods
Reading of the Latin text, translation and comment of Jerome's Prologues to his translation of the Bible and of a selection from the Prefaces of Martin Luther to his German translation of the Bible (in Italian).
Assessment methods
Oral examination: reading, translating the texts and commenting them with the help of the related bibliography.
