Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to give to the student the basic informations about procedures to treat emergency lesions in domestic animals

Course contents

Emergency patients will be evaluated together with student, with particular regard to triage and lifethreatening procedures.  It is expected  by the student the performance of specific skills.

Teaching methods

Clinical training  includes a first collective evaluation, followed by  the execution of  life-saving surgical procedures (p.e.:  Tracheotomy)

Assessment methods

 

The evaluation of the skills achieved by the student (listed in Annex received at the beginning of the training period)  is done by in-course tests related to manual activities carried out directly by the student, discussion of clinical cases evaluated during the training period, execution of manual and clinical procedures in the presence of structured personnel

The achievement of the ability  is certified by signature of structured personnel involved in daily training activities and it will integrate  the final mark of Veterinary Surgery
