Course contents

The first part of the course is devoted to the analysis of classical literature on theories of religion such as Max Weber, Durkheim, William James.
The second part explores the relationship between modernity and religions such as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam and in some cases to Oriental religions. Students will be introduced to problems such as religion and violence, fundamentalism, women and religion and so forth.
