Teaching methods

The course combines background lectures on the listed topics, and Laboratory work aimed at the preparation of the drawings/documents to be submitted for the examination: reinforcing general topics through case analysis, using the mapping tools made available (technical maps, historical maps, etc.)

Assessment methods

In order to sit the examination students are required to submit a portfolio of drawings, produced in the Town planning Laboratory, related to the historical evolution of the areas chosen as case studies. The examination also includes an interview on the topics covered during the course.
The final examination involves the presentation and discussion of submitted works and a discussion of the main topics addressed during the course.

Teaching tools

Lectures are meant to support the students' cognitive and project development activities; seminars are aimed at assessing the work done in groups.

At the beginning of the course students will be equipped with basic cartographic material concerning the areas under investigation.
