Learning outcomes

This course will focus on the management and consequences of technology-based innovation. It provides core concepts and tools related to new product development and strategic management of innovation. A module of the course is devoted to key concepts and techniques of project management

Course contents

The course is divided into the following parts:

 

1.- New product development projects: key concepts.

 

2. – Idea generation: internal and external sources

 

3. –  Idea selection: key techniques.

 

4. –  New product development: key decisions and best practices.

 

5. – Testing, validation and commercial launch of new products

 

6. – Project management: Concepts and techniques.

Assessment methods

The final exam is based on a written test, covering all the topics of the program. For students attending regularly the seminars, part of the final exam can be substituted by a project-work to be completed in teams
