Preface: Sanitary Environmental Engineering:
Hygien and facility.
Water: Cicles and balance in natural and waste water.
Technical laws. Industrial and domestic water supply. Hygien
Municipal Regulation. Water outfall discipline. Wastewater reuse
regulations. Flowrate and characteristics of domestic and
industrial wastewater. Treatability in order to use. Water volumes
protection and sanitary reclamation plans. Kinetics and
biochemistry of bacterial and algal biomass. Growth and death in
suspended and biomasses. Full-scale domestic wastewater treatment
plant. Choice and ubication. Equalization. Raw and fine screens.
Sand removal. Primary sedimentation. Biodegradability and
biological phases for secundary treatment. Secundary sedimentation.
Wastewater disinfection. Treatment and disposal of sludge. Oxygen
balance in lakes and rivers. Eutrophic assessment and water quality
in rivers, lakes, transition volumes and coastal seawater.
Solid waste: Merceologic and quantitative characteristics
for domestic and industrial solid waste. Optimization of harvest
and collecting systems. Landfill design criteria. Calculation,
drainage and storage of leachate. Biogas production and landfill
captation systems.Treatment of organic fraction.
Air: Meteorology and atmospheric pollution. Main pollutants
and chemical reactions in atmosphere. Diffused and localized
sources. Principles and schemes utilized in dispersion models.
