Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student:

  • -          knows the most important researches and the main monitoring activities related to educational and rehabilitative interventions.
  • -           is capable to arrange the use of observation tools for the analysis of contexts and needs in situation of personal or social unease.
  • -          is able to plan some appropriate interventions, according to the specific social and cultural field, and to assess the results of it through adequate procedures.
  • -          can apply some specific and adequate techniques and tools in order to assess the educational projects.
  • -          is able to contribute to the organization and management of monitoring actions aimed at reducing the phenomenon of marginality, individual or group.
  • -          can analyze and interpret in a critical way the assessment data concerning educational interventions and projects.
  • -          is capable to use the results of empiric and experimental researches to analyze and to cope with the different and changeable social, educational and cultural contexts.

Course contents

The course is aimed at giving to students the necessary knowledge for planning and assessing different educational interventions, according to the various fields of action for the social and cultural educators. After analyzing the main approaches to planning and assessment in the field of education we will focus on the main elements of a planning path in order to offer the knowledge that appears to be necessary to:

  • -          read the characteristic of a context and find the educational needs of its actors;
  • -          define clearly and precisely the aims and goals of a project;
  • -          identify the most adequate methodologies and strategies for goal achievement;
  • -          know and apply the techniques and tools for project assessment.
