Learning outcomes

Course offers an overview of the history of broadcasting in Italy, from fascism to this day. It also aims to analyze the productive process of a TV show, from the creation to post-production, with specific reference to the elaboration of a TV format.

Course contents

Aim of the course is to provide students with an overwiev of the Italian broadcasting system. The course will focus on the history of radio and TV in Italy, on mass communication theories (the concept of audience, media effects etc.). A comparison will be mad between the Italian and US and European broadcasting systems. The course will then focus on TV serial products with some case studies.
