Learning outcomes

The Civil law course has an annual length.
The purpose of the course is to provide the students with a deep knowledge of the more important civil topics, also in the perspective of a subsequent professional specialization. Other than a solid knowledge of the basic matters, the course shall provide a continuous updating regarding current and controversial questions related to the Civil law, by means of the exam of both normative and jurisprudential matter.

Course contents

The object of the course is the study of obligations and agreements, both in a general (based on the Italian Civil Code rules) and in a specific perspective (having regard to the several internal and international provenances and to the several typologies of agreements).
With regard to the general part it will be examined:

I) Obligations:

a) Their provenances;
b) Their fulfilment or not fulfilment;
c) The cases of extinction;
d) Their modifications;
e) The conservation of the credit.

II) Agreement:

a) The contractual autonomy;
b) The requirements of the agreement;
c) The validity or invalidity;
d) The effects.

The special part of the course will elaborate on some typologies of agreements, with special regard to the technicians of conclusion:
1) The agreements between consumers and enterprises;
2) The on-line agreements and electronic trade;
3) The agreements closed by public administration .

Assessment methods

The course will have annual length, consequently the students obtaining the attendance certification during the Academic Year 2009/2010, shall be admitted to the final examination from May 2010.
The final examination will be oral.
At the end of the first semester, the students attending the course will have the opportunity to make and intermediate examination on the matters treated by the Lecturer until that moment.
The voting of such preliminary examination will be considered for the final examination, on the condition that the student will continue the attendance of the course during the second semester.
In order to obtain the relative certification, is required the attendance of at least the 80% of the lectures.

Teaching tools

The course will be realized by means of lectures, also with the support of slides.
Some lectures will be dedicated to case study and the judgements will be distributed.
Specific researches will be encouraged, to realize by means of on-line data bank.
The didactic material will be made available to the students by means of distribution lists.
There will be specific seminars, in order to integrate or substitute specific parts of the programme for the students attending the course.
