Learning outcomes
The Course of General Sociology aims to help the student to see and to analyse the main social trends of the “post”-modern society. So the student will be able to better appreciate the social relevance of the leisure time, the sport, and the exercise and fitness.
Course contents
The Course of General Sociology will teach the main
concepts and theories useful to analyse the up-to-date changings
and the relevance of the sport and exercise in the "post"-modern
societes.
In the course you can distinguish three part, the following
ones:
a) in the general part the course will present the following
concept and theories:
-Social evolution
-Culture of human groups and societes
-Value, norms and institutions
-Identity and socialization
-Language and communications
-Deviance and criminality
-Social functions of science and technology
-Social functions of religion.
b) in the monographic part the Course will present the
differentiation process and analyse the reasons of the growing
relevance of sport in the free time sphere.
c) the aim of the seminarial part of the Course is to
promote the student's cognitive interests, and to show studies and
empirical researches in the sociology field, which be useful to
satisfy them.
Readings/Bibliography
Three books are required in order to prepare the minimum program: two books are the common ones, the third book will be chosen by the student within the ones listed below.
For the enlarged program one can choise a fourth book or mores within the list.

Teaching methods
Face-to-face lessons and case studies introduced by the new technologies of communications.
Assessment methods
Write exam will be get about the 3 books (minimum program) or 4 or more books (enlarged program), chosen between the books listed upper.
The test will be composed by 30 topics (minimum program) or more - 10 topics for each other book (enlarged program)
Questions and answears will be already written in the test.
Time: 1' for each topic, maximum 30' for the minimum program, +10' for each chosen book.
You can pass the exam if you'll gain 18 right answears in the test for minimum program, and +6 right answears for each chosen book (enlarged program)– for each positive proof in your chosen books, you'll have 3 points to add at your score.
2 important info.s about the examination:
a) in order to be admitted to the exam: You had to be present at minimum to the 70% of the lessons. Presences under this minimum may be integrated by studying a book more than the minimum program (a forth book, chosen between the listed ones). No presence at all or less than 12 hours don't allow to gain the Uec.s, so that the student cannot be admit to the exam.
b) In order to be registered to the roll-call: You had to insert your name in the electronic list for the exam within the 5th day before the fixed date (you can have access to the e-list in the UniWex website, at the url: https://almaesami.unibo.it/almaesami/welcome.htm ).
