- Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Environmental Sciences (cod. 8011)
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student has a basic knowledge of technical and operating methodologies essential to define and represent the spatial characteristics of the earth's surface. It is able to: - treat and restore environmental data in the main systems projective methods; - techniques of satellite positioning for the description of the territory and the description of its variations.
Course contents
Reminders of geodesy: shape and size of the Earth, reference surfaces and datum mapping. Coordinate Systems. Introduction to basic topographic survey . GPS and DGPS survey.
Cartographic representations of more common use (Mercator, Gauss- Boaga, UTM, Cassini- Soldner, Charts). Basic and thematic maps. The official italian cartography. Overview of remote sensing. Nmeric cartography and GIS. Problems of georeferencing, conversion of coordinates, regeneration and refund of pre- geodetic maps and images ( satellite, aircraft, etc).Readings/Bibliography
There isn't a unique text book that cover all the aspects of interest. It is suggested to use the lesson notes. During the lectures will be given to the students scientific journal, technical reports, web site address, etc…
