Learning outcomes
Basic and specific knowledge on memory within the larger area of
the cognitive psychology, with a special regard to the
experimental, methodological and applied aspects concerning this
research domain.
This competence is also considered as a necessary premise of
following two-year periods such as Philosophy courses or other
specialistic degrees. Learning outcomes imply transfers of adequate
methodologies to applied fields, such as cognitive sciences;
education; media concerned with scientific and social
communication; cultural promotion and organisation; advertising;
welfare work and public relations.
Course contents
In the first part of the course, the different methodologies and
research on Psychology of Memory are explored. The main topics of
the second part of this course deal with the ecological
studies on Everyday memory, such as autobiographical memory and
witness.

Teaching methods
Lecture. Discussion and common work with students is also foreseen.
Assessment methods
An oral exam is usually foreseen. However, written texts can also be submitted (English/French/Italian). Please, contact the teacher in advance about the specific topics, structure, length and language of these papers. Students are supposed to submit their paper to the teacher about 10 days before the oral exam, where papers will be discussed, evaluated, and their mark officially registered.
