Learning outcomes
The main outcome of the Final Synthesis Laboratory, whose this course is part of, consists in leading the students to the elaboration of their own analysis and project work at the territorial and urban scales, with the general aim of leading them to their degree project.
Course contents
The activities will be focused on the general theme of the seaside cities of the Romagna Coast, from Cervia-Milano Marittima to Cattolica, near to the south regional border. This subject has been chosen with the intention of outlining such a wide theme, that can offer to the students the opportunity of elaborating their own project themes.
The activities of the Laboratory will be organised in two phases: the first one will consist in deepening the knowledge of the territory, and particularly of the city chosen as a study case. Each group (max 2 students) will analyse and describe its growing process, but also the places and the architectural types that characterize it as a seaside resort. The second one will consist in the individuation of the possible project areas and themes, and will conclude with the extension of a project proposal at the urban scale. The final drawing of a masterplan, with morphological and volumetric specifications, is requested.
As regards this program, the course of Town Planning I has the aim of leading a reflection about the targets, the methods and the tools of the urban project, and its relationship with the current planning tools.
