29645 - Laboratory of Mechanical Drawing T

Academic Year 2009/2010

  • Docente: Gianni Caligiana
  • Credits: 3
  • Language: Italian
  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering (cod. 0918)

Learning outcomes

Students will acquire:
- basic knowledge in industrial design and drafting, with particular reference to the chemical and mechanical fields;
- theoretical and practical knowledge about 2D tools utilized in CAD.

Course contents

The first part of the course aims at providing the students with the acquisition of basic skills for drawing all the main machine or plant components and understanding drawings already made by others. After a brief introduction to the geometrical bases, it treats, according to the italian standards, the rules and norms for the right representation of each component, by accounting for the function it plays into the device or assembly and for the cycle it experiences during its manufacturing.

The second part of the course aims at providing knowledge about main characteristics of 2D CAD tools and their utilization. Students follow a practical training by utilizing the widespread 2D CAD tool AutoCAD or performing hand sketches.

Teaching methods

In laboratory activities, Students utilizes a typical bidimensional CAD program (AutoCAD).

Assessment methods

Exam consists in a written test (compulsory for admission to the speech) and a speech (oral test).
Written test consists in an exercise (performed by the 2D-Computer Aided Design Program AutoCAD), like those made during course laboratory.
Oral test is based on questions about items explained during the course and discussion on graphical production of the student.
