Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to deal with some criminological themes
that, departing from a brief introduction on the theories in
criminology and on crime prevention, can be related to the
relationships among alienation, crime and social control.
Course contents
Starting from a basic knowledge about some criminological theories,
we will focus on themes related to the specific activity of a
criminologist in the criminal justice system. The lessons will be
divided into two parties: one by Prof. Raffaella Sette (8 hours)
and the other one (22 hours) by dr. Luca Cimino.
The course will focus on the following subjects:
1) Classical School in criminology and criminal justice system
(deterrence and tertiary prevention);
2) Anomie theory and crime prevention;
3) Criminal justice system and imputability;
4) Relation of mental disease to crime.
