Learning outcomes

To know the main biochemical pathways in the human organs and tissues
and to describe the metabolic and hormonal regulations in different physiological and pathological conditions.

Course contents

Metabolism of the following tissues and organs:
Liver;Blood constituents and Vascular cells; Skeletal and Cardiac
muscles;Brain;Adipose and Bone tissues.
Main interactions and adaptations of the metabolism of these tissues in
response to overnutrition,fasting,stress,diabetes,obesity,atherosclerosis,ischemia.
