Learning outcomes

To know the main pathways responsible of the energetic metabolism at cellular level and in the human tissues.
To learn the biochemical and endocrine mechanisms leading to the control of the energetic metabolism in different conditions (feeding,starvation,exercise) with particular reference to the endocrine factors released from the adipose tissue.

Course contents

Formation of ATP by the glucidic,lipidic and aminoacidic  metabolism. Metabolic and hormonal control of the energetic metabolism in conditions of feeding,starvation and exercise. Role of the adipose tissue in the control of the energetic metabolism.
