Learning outcomes
The course is designed to help students develop a critical understanding of the role of linguistics in contemporary multilingual and technological society.
Course contents
The first module (5/6 credits) is designed to consider the role of LA in today's globalized world of mobility and flows where different languages and cultures are in contact. We will refer to European language policies to investigate:
- different multilingual and/or intercultural communicative situations,
- new communicative and pedagogcal situations created bu ICT and new learning environments.
Different readings will be given on the basis of the different
number of credits.
The second module (5 credits) is designed to develop analysis and critical understanding of the issues considered in the first module.It is intended to provide students with basic training and to encourage them to investigate the contributions of ICT and neuroscience to the analysis of language

Assessment methods
the course will be assessed by a combination of a written and an oral exam. The written assessment will consist of five open questions to be discussed by the candidate in the oral part of the exam.
For adavanced levels the assessment will
consist of a 3,000 word written paper, to be discussed
in the oral exam.
