Academic Year 2008/2009

  • Docente: Donatella Pavanelli
  • Credits: 3
  • SSD: AGR/08
  • Language: Italian
  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Land and Agro-forestry Sciences (cod. 0008)

Learning outcomes

The programme aims to develop an interdisciplinary knowledge and technical base skills for understanding soils and water resources and sustenable land management. During the programme problems of soil conservation are addressed from the farm to the catchment scale adopting land reclamation techniques and biothecnical slope protection.

Course contents

Surface geodynamics. Agents and types of erosion: water erosion, wind erosion, ice erosion, gravity erosion. Meteoric degradation: physical and chemical weathering. Rainfall erosion. Surface runoff erosion. Features of slope water erosion. Mass movement. Soil erosion prediction models. Surface water circulation. Water flow. Sediment yield from river basin. Erosion control practice and biothecnical slope protection.
