Learning outcomes
The Course of Sociology aims to help the student to see and to analyse the main social trends of the “post”-modern society; this goal will be facilitated by the explication of the main sociological concepts and by the presentation of the findings of the main researches, led by "classic" and modern sociologists. So the student will be able to better appreciate the social relevance of the leisure time, and of the sport and fitness.
Course contents
The Course of Sociology will teach the main concepts and theories
useful to analyse the up-to-date changings and the relevance of the
sport in the "post"-modern societes.
In the course you can distinguish three part, the following ones:
a) in the general part the course will present the following
concept and theories:
-Social evolution
-Culture of human groups and societes
-Value, norms and institutions
-Identity and socialization
-Language and communications
-Deviance and criminality
-Science and technology
-Religions.
b) in the monographic part the Course will present the
differentiation process and analyse the reasons of the growing
relevance of sport in the free time sphere.
c) the aim of the seminarial part of the Course is to promote the
student's cognitive interests, and to show studies and empirical
researches in the sociology field, for instance the changing in
values religion and communication by mass and new media, which be
useful to satisfy them.
Readings/Bibliography
Two books are required for the minimum program: the first one is the common book, the second one is choised by the student.
For the enlarged program one can choise a third or more books between the ones listed below.

Assessment methods
Write exam about 2 books (minimum program) or 3 or more books (enlarged program), choised between the listed book.
The test will be composed by 30 questions (minimum program) or more = 10 questions for each other book (enlarged program)
Questions and answears will be already written in the test.
Time : 1' for each question, maximum 30' for the minimum program, +10' for each choised book.
You can pass the exam if you'll gain 18 right answears in the test for minimum program, and +6 right answears for each choised book (enlarged program).
N.B.: General Sociology is a matter of an Integrated Course, so that the achieved vote will go to compose the final vote, as an average of those achieved in the other matters of the same Course.
Be attention, please!:
You had to enter your name in the electronic list for the exam within the 5th day before the fixed date (you can have access to the e-list in the Dean of Faculty website, at the url: http://scmot.unibo.it/V2/default.aspx).
You had to be present at minimum to the 70% of the lessons. Presences under this minimum may be integrated by studying a book more than the minimum program (a forth book, choised between the listed ones). No presence at all don't allow to gain the Uec.s, so that the student cannot be admit to the exam.
