Learning outcomes

The course pourposes are to initiate the students to the study  of the ancient history of the Emilia Romagna region by means of the direct analysis of various sources tipologies (literary, epygraphic, archaeological, etc.). The students will be able to acquire an elementary background and a research methodology concerning the study of the various themes characterising the ancient world, particularly its institutions, society and culture.



Course contents

-Various aspects analysis of the romanisation in the Cispadana region (social, economics, religious, institutional etc.) based on different data typologies.

-Methodology exemples concerning the documentation analysis will be discussed to attaine a final conclusion of general historical value.

- In the second part of the course the following topic will be anilyzed: Necropoli and burial rites in the augustean VIII regio.

- A more extensive references concerning the VIII regio, list will be suggested during the lessons.

Assessment methods

The final examination will be of an oral type, concerning a general background culture and the fundamentals of the research methodology.
