Learning outcomes

The course concerns the basic knowledges of Phoenician and Punic civilization, from the Iron Age in the Ancient Near East to the Phoenician and Punic historical and archaeological expressions of Western Mediterranean.

 

Course contents

 

1. Phoenician history and archaeology in the Iron Age.

2. Phoenician expansion in the West: times, ways and places.

3. Carthage and the Punic Age in the Western Mediterranean.

4. Punic handicraft: Eastern traditions and Substrata.
