Learning outcomes

Knowledge of the main techniques of linear algebra. Knowledge of basic calculus for real functions in one variable and knowledge of economical and financial applications of these theories.

Course contents

Main tools of mathematical thinking: defining, proving, problem posing and problem solving, building strategies.

Linear algebra: Matrices. Linear systems. Eigenvalues and eigenvectors.

Numbers: rational numbers, real numbers. Complex numbers. Approximation. Sequences and series.

Functions: real functions of real variable. Reading, understanding, cnstructing, handling a graph. Vecotr functions. Continuity; limits.

Calculus: derivatives. Application to functions. Applications to economical facts.

Integral calculus: Integrals. Calculating integrals. Applications to economical facts.

Partial examination and complete examination following the official schedule.Assessment will consist of a written work with closed, false-open and open- answer question. In some circumstance the written examination will be integrated by an oral examination.
