These disciplines related to the social sciences, in an ever closer link between socio-educational, artistic and theatrical dimensions, can give life to new areas of research in which questions are asked about the possibilities of activating cultural processes with a view to active citizenship. Sociopolitical scenarios are changing the contexts and the world we inhabit more and more rapidly. We therefore need to develop transdisciplinary and innovative perspectives, complex knowledge and skills to pursue those objectives already set out in art. 9 of our Constitution and recognized as rights in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UN, 1948): "Everyone has the right to freely take part in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts and to participate in scientific progress and its benefits ".
In 2001, the UNESCO Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity, in addition to reiterating that "all people have the right to participate in the cultural life of their choice and to conduct their own cultural practices", significantly emphasizes how cultural pluralism fosters cultural exchange and the flourishing of creative capacities that sustain public life and adds that “cultural diversity broadens the range of options open to all; it is one of the roots of development, understood not only in terms of economic growth, but also as a means to achieve a more satisfying intellectual, emotional, moral and spiritual existence. "
The promotion of active cultural participation, the participation of citizens in the arts and culture, then becomes a right and a general human necessity, as a possibility of prevention, transformation, social and cultural innovation, but also to combat loneliness, isolation, discrimination and marginalization.
