Learning outcomes

The course will provide basic skills on how to alert the rescue system and implement first aid interventions, know the specific risks of the maneuvers performed, acquire knowledge and skills on the treatment of priority health problems. Furthermore, the aim of the course is to promote prevention as a tool to conserve the health of the body and the mind, reduction of the risk factors of the main metabolic, tumor and cardiovascular pathologies.

Course contents

Unit 1: first Aid

- To promptly recognize health emergency situations.

- To correctly activate the Emergency System and communicate the injured person's conditions.

- To know the first aid maneuvers for illness and trauma

- To activate the purchase of prevention and civil protection.

- To provide the first aid maneuvers in an adequate and timely manner according to your skills.

Teaching methods

Frontal lessons in ppt presentations.

Training simulations are provided for the first aid module.

Assessment methods

Multiple choice tests for both Unit 1 and Unit 2.

Practical exam for the First Aid module.

Teaching tools

ppt presentations for Unit 1 and Unit 2.

For the First Aid module (Unit 1), high-quality CPR and resusci manikins will be used;Triangles and bandages for bandages and emergency splinting equipment will be also used.
