The student acquires the concepts of measurement and error and the methodologies for the quantitative and statistical analysis of results.
Course contents
Statistical units, characters and measurement scales.
Statistical surveys and setting up a database.
Frequency distributions and graphical representations.
Measures of central tendency and measures of variability.
Relationship between two characters: contingency tables and correlation indices.
Statistical tests for comparing averages, frequencies and distributions.
