Learning outcomes

This course covers several topics in Corporate Finance from a traditional and a behavioral perspective. First, it provides an introduction to a variety of subjects in traditional Corporate Finance, including both investment and financing choices. Then, it puts emphasis on Behavioral Corporate Finance, integrating insights from psychology into the traditional approach to Corporate Finance.

Course contents

This course covers theoretical and practical topics in Corporate Finance. Students will learn key features of valuation, capital budgeting, risk & return, market efficiency, corporate decisions, capital structure, dividend policy, agency conflicts, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions. All topics will be covered from a traditional and a behavioral perspective.

Teaching methods

Six hours of lecture and discussion per week.

Assessment methods

The grade is based on a comprehensive written and oral exam covering all the material, and a written essay agreed with the professor. Quality and extent of participation in class will be taken into account. The detailed grading policy will be announced in class, and before the exam.
