Since 2012 she is full professor at the University of Bologna and scientific manager of Unit 06 of CIRI-MAM (interdipartimental centre for industrial research). Her research lines are in neurodegeneration early prevention and treatment in vitro. Main topics are the development of selective and sensitive methods to extract, by green approaches from secondary products od fruits, legumes and microalgae molecules to be characterized in their interaction with neurodegeneration target proteins by means of mass spectrometry also coupled to liquid and gas cromatography, circular dichroism, spectroscopic methods. She is interested in monitoring the structural modifications which cause the conformational changes of beta-amyloid peptide, the inhibition of enzymes which catalyse the TAU protein hyperphosphorylation and the abnormal production of amyloid peptide. She has been involved in cellular lipidomic studies in order to highlight new targets for neurodegeneration. She published more than 240 papers in international journal with high impact factor, HI=57.
