Curriculum vitae

Associate Professor at the University of Bologna since 2021, his research fields include phenomenology, ontology, hermeneutics and philosophy of religion, with particular reference to Husserl, Heidegger, Levinas, Ricoeur, Henry, Waldenfels, Marion. His research is currently focused on the phenomenology of religious experience and on recent developments in French phenomenology on topics such as subjectivity, alterity, sensibility, embodiment.

Education

Master’s Degree in Philosophy (2000) at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, PhD in Philosophy (2004) at the same university.

Academic career

Adjunct lecturer in Theoretical Philosophy (from 2007 to 2010), Aesthetics (2010/2011) and History of Philosophy (2005/2006 and 2011/2012) at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, research fellow at the same university (2010-2011) and at the University of Bologna (2012-2016). Senior Assistant Professor (fixed-term) at the University of Bologna since 2018, Associate Professor since 2021. In 2022 he obtained the National Scientific Qualification for the role of Full Professor in Theoretical Philosophy.

Teaching activities

Since 2018 he has carried out teaching activities for the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Philosophy and for the Master’s Degree Programme in Philosophical Sciences. He currently teaches Theoretical Philosophy for the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Philosophy and Philosophy of Religion for the Master’s Degree Programmes in Philosophical Sciences and in Religions Histories Cultures. In the period 2021-2024 he taught Philosophical Hermeneutics for the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Philosophy.

Scientific activities

Visiting research stay at Technische Universität Berlin and at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg i.Br. Participation in many research projects, including: “Languages of the Absolute” (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, 2012-2016); “Ontology, Hermeneutics, and Politics” (PRIN 2009); “Truth: Identities and Differences” (PRIN 2007); “Subjectivity, Ontology, and Language between Modern and Contemporary” (PRIN 2004). Referee for Italian and international scientific journals in the philosophical field.

Institutional activities and academic appointments

Member of the Research Commission of the Department of Philosophy, member of the QA Commission of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Philosophy and member of the Commission for the evaluation of the requirements for access to the Master’s Degree Programme in Philosophical Sciences. Representative of the University of Bologna in the Scientific Council of the Interuniversity Research Center “Centro Studi di Critica Heideggeriana (CSCH)”.

Editorial activities

Since 2013 member of the editorial board of the journal “Discipline filosofiche”, since 2005 member of the editorial board of the journal “Ermeneutica Letteraria” (since 2024 member of the scientific committee), and since 2003 member of the North-Eastern editorial board of the journal “Filosofia e Teologia”.
