Short Bio
Silvia Betti is the author of numerous publications on the sociolinguistic aspects of Spanish in the United States, the phenomenon of Spanglish, youth language and SMS, new technologies applied to teaching Spanish as a foreign language, and non-verbal communication. She has delivered conferences, courses, and seminars at various universities in Italy, Europe (Valencia, Alcalá; Liberec -Czech Republic-; Ghent and Brussels -Belgium-, Barcelona -UB-, Málaga, etc.), Latin America (Costa Rica and Mexico), and the United States (San Antonio, New York City, Denver, Harvard, Miami-FIU, Chicago, Washington DC, among others).
