Researcer at University of Bologna since 1995. Her research topics are: microbial taxonomy of Bifidobacterium and lactic acid bacteria, probiotics and prebiotics, microbiota of animal and human gut, essential oils. Author of chapters on Bifidobacteriaceae on Bergey's Manual Systematic Bacteriology and on Prokaryotes. Collaborates with different International Research Institute.
