Research Areas:

Prevention and diagnosis of Learning Disabilities:  development of assessment tools for early diagnosis and prevention of Specific Learning Disabilities.

Speed of processing and cognitive functioning: Speed of processing is considered and index of neural efficiency; SIP tasks are used both in case of specific and non-specific learning disabilities.

Eye-movements and cognitive-emotional integration: Eye movement patterns and SCR responses are considered indexes of cognitive and affective processing. Experimental paradigms are developed to assess cognitive-emotional interaction through the integration of EM and SCR indexes.

Learning disabilities, adolescence and emotional modulation: the research is mainly focused on the interaction among  cognitive and emotional dimensions both in typical and atypical development, with a particular emphasis on comorbidity issues.

Bilingualism:  research on the “bilingual advantage”, development of verbal and non-verbal tasks to assess anticipation, inhibition and cognitive control in bilinguals
