Paola Bonifacci, Professor (associate) at the Department of Psychology, University of Bologna.
My research focuses on bilingualism, literacy, and learning skills, with particular interest in how environmental and emotional factors interact with cognitive processes. I investigate the predictors of reading, writing, and mathematical abilities, as well as Specific Learning Disorders and language disorders in children with diverse language backgrounds. I lead the LADA Lab (Learning Disorders Assessment Laboratory) and oversee its affiliated psychological diagnostic service.
I am actively engaged in school-based projects and collaborate with healthcare services, both for research purposes and to provide training for professionals, as well as informational sessions for parents.
I teach courses on Processes and Learning Disorders (Master’s in Applied Cognitive Psychology), Assessment of Learning Disorders (Master’s in School and Community Psychology), and Bias in Cognitive Assessment in Multicultural Contexts (Master’s in Wellbeing and Social Inclusivity).
