Short Bio

Paola Brembilla is a media industries scholar, with a focus on television. In 2016, she earned her PhD in Television Studies at the University of Bologna with a dissertation on the history of the relations between business models and aesthetics in US TV series. She is member of the research group that organizes the international conference Media Mutations. From 2017 to 2019, she was an adjunct professor at the University of Padova, where she taught Theories and Techniques of Radio and Television Languages.

She was a speaker at several international conferences and she is the author of numerous publications, including articles, chapters and two books: “Game of Strategy. A Strategic Analysis of Serial TV Narratives in the US Television Industry” (with Edoardo Mollona, Giappichelli 2015) and "It's All Connected. The Evolution of US TV Series" (Franco Angeli, 2018). With Ilaria A. De Pascalis, she edited the collection “Reading Contemporary Serial Television Universes. A Narrative Ecosystem Framework” (Routledge 2018).
