The research topics focus on school psychology and the sociocognitive aspects of education and development, particularly the psychosocial processes that govern daily life in school contexts and the teacher-student relationship. Over the years, the dynamics and implications related to the following have been explored in depth: learning objectives, causal attribution in the context of school-educational events, processes involved in evaluation as social judgment, judgments of responsibility, and the well-being of students and teachers. School psychology is an additional research theme. In carrying out the scientific work related to this topic, the researcher maintains relationships with colleagues from other universities, both Italian and international.
Research themes for master theses:
Inclusion of children and adolescents with disabilities through sport.
Students may be involved in the activities of the PLAYINC4KIDS project link [https://www.csit.sport/events/eu-projects/playinc4kids?utm_source=chatgpt.com] . PlayInc4Kids is an Erasmus+ Sport project co-funded by the European Union, created with the aim of promoting grassroots inclusive sport for all children, regardless of their abilities. The project seeks to test a methodology designed to encourage the participation of children with cognitive disabilities, together with their peers without disabilities, in traditional team sports, thus creating truly inclusive sporting environments. link [https://edu.unibo.it/it/notizie/new-eu-projects-csit-in-playinc4kids?utm_source=chatgpt.com]
Error as a tool for learning.
Students may be involved in the research activities of the international group E-CER – EARLI Centre for Excellence in Research link [https://www.earli.org/e-cer-tulis-oswald-matteucci-steuer?utm_source=chatgpt.com] . The project aims to develop a theoretical framework to understand and enhance errors, mistakes, and failures as opportunities for learning and personal growth. It pursues three main objectives: to foster the exchange of perspectives and research tools on the topic; to integrate existing theories (e.g., on self-regulated learning, motivation, and emotions) into a unified model of constructive error management; and to translate this model into innovative practices to create “error-friendly” educational and organizational contexts, where failure becomes a driver of learning, resilience, and development.
Psychologists and school psychology.
Theses focus on the role, functions, and activities of school psychologists. Students may be involved in research/intervention activities on this topic, particularly within the SPIN OFF MINDS project link [https://percorsiconibambini.it/spinoffminds/?utm_source=chatgpt.com] . This project was created with the aim of strengthening psychological support in schools through an innovative model that integrates training, technology, and free access to care services. School psychologists from several cities in Emilia-Romagna will be involved and trained in the use of a specifically designed digital platform.
