Internship available at European Membrane Institute Twente (NL): Processing of natural gas by hollow fiber membranes

Processing of natural gas by hollow fiber membranes
European Membrane Institute (EMI) (The Netherlands) is an organization within the Membrane Science and Technology research cluster of the University of Twente aiming at valorization of academic research. Our aim is to bring new potential membrane products and technologies to industrial reality, for example in gas separation.

Over the past 25 years the gas separation membrane industry experienced significant boost, but still consists of only four major applications purification of the natural gas from impurities, like carbon dioxide, remains key field of membrane gas application. There are number of high standards that new materials in this field should present: high thermal, chemical and plasticization resistance. Here, several polymers, specifically polyimides, are considered as an attractive alternative to the current materials with moderate performance.
As master student in EMI Twente, you will work on the edge between academia and industry, get experience with industrially oriented research and innovation, work together with experts in the field and have access to state-of-the-art facilities. As part of the team, you will work in the development of new membranes for natural gas upgrading. Due to the confidential nature of our activities, we can't share more details beforehand. If you are a communicative, industrially minded and creative student who wants to be in an international, dynamic and innovative environment, please contact us.
Please contact Prof. Maria Grazia de Angelis at grazia.deangelis@unibo.it for more information to know if you are eligible to this internship
