Francesco Vitucci is Associate professor at the University of Bologna since 2010. He carries out his research in the field of audiovisual translation and, in particular, on the sociolinguistic and ideological aspects of translation from the Japanese language. Currently he focuses his research on the topic of identity, punctuation and pro-am modalities in the field of interlingual subtitling. Engaged in national and international research collaborations, he collaborates with several associations, universities and festivals on the Italian territory. He translates Japanese authors such as Hamao Shirō, Edogawa Ranpo, Yokomizo Seishi, Tsumura Kikuko, Tsukamoto Shin'ya, Kurata Takashi, Koreeda Hirokazu and is author of several scientific publications in volumes and in national and international journals. Since 2022 he is supervisor of the Japanese series "Arcipelago Japan" for Luni Editrice (Milan).
