Keywords: FLOOD-RISK MITIGATION WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT UNGAUGED BASINS RAINFALL-RUNOFF MODELS MODELS OF FLOOD-PLAIN INUNDATION

The research lines cover a wide range of hydrologic and hydraulic topics: 1) analysis of the dominant hydrological processes in the production of river runoff, aimed at the classification of river basins; 2) techniques for flood frequency estimation; 3) rainfall-runoff models for hydrological forecasting; 4) hydraulic modeling with one-dimensional (1D), quasi-two-dimensional (quasi-2D) and two-dimensional (2D) unsteady free-surface models; 5) development of numerical models of inundation through the combined use of laser scanning surveys and mapping of flooded areas.
