Multidisciplinary approach to the study of the evolution of orogens
and associated sedimentary basins. Such approach implies the
integration of stratigraphy, sedimentology, structural
analysis, thermochronology, petrography, and paleogeography. The main goal is to obtain new data on the
development and exhumation of selected orogenic sectors, also
through the analysis of syntectonic sedimentary deposits. Our
research group is active in several sectors of the Mediterranean
region, including the Alpine-age orogenic belts of Italy, Anatolia
and the Caucasian region, in cooperation with Italian and foreign
researchers and institutions.
