Curriculum vitae

Since November 2015 Veronica Innocenti is Associate Professor (SSD L-ART/06) at the Department of Arts of the University of Bologna.

She graduated magna cum laude in Mass Communication at the University of Bologna on March 19th 2001 with a thesis in Film Semiotics titled “The representation of mass media in American contemporary cinema” (Tutor Prof. Guglielmo Pescatore, co-tutor Prof. Davide Sparti). Since June 2005 She holds a Ph.D in Film studies from University of Bologna. From 2002 to 2006 she has been a temporary research fellow at the Dipartimento di Musica e Spettacolo of the University of Bologna. As a students, she has been awarded of a scholarship within the Overseas exchange program and she attended the academic year 1998-1999 at the University of California, Irvine as an EAP Exchange Student. Between November 2003 and February 2004 she spent a research period at the University of California, Los Angeles (Tutor Prof. Vivian Sobchack), thanks to a Marco Polo grant from University of Bologna.

Between 2006 and 2010 she has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Bologna, where she taught corses in Film Marketing, History of Broadcasting, Semiotics and Fim and multimedia economics. For the academic years 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 she has been an Adjunct Professor at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, where she taught Film analysis.

Between March and June 2006 she collaborated as a content analyst to a research titled "ANEC: Le condizioni del cinema", she worked on the narrative structures and strategies of Italian movies (1995-2005). This research has been coordinated by the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan (Prof. Francesco Casetti and Prof. Mariagrazia Fanchi) and by the L. Bocconi University in Milan (Prof. Severino Salvemini).

She also participated to the scientific planning and the technical organization of the X, XI, XII e XIII Udine International Film Studies Conference (2003-2006) and to the scientific planning and technical organization of the I, II, III e IV edizione della MAGIS - International Film Studies Spring School (Multiple and Multiple-Language Versions, 21-28 marzo 2003; Multiple Versions at the Beginning of the Sound Era: Film and Other Media, 19-27 marzo 2004; Moving People, Moving Images, 10-19 marzo 2005; Cinema and Contemporary Visual Arts, 31 marzo – 7 aprile 2006).

Between 2002 and 2006 she has designed, planned and coordinated several seminars for the students of the DAMS Major of the University of Bologna.

Since 2005 she has been a member of the editorial board of the academic journal "Cinergie. Il cinema e le altre arti" (editor in chief Prof. Roy Menarini). Between 2003 and 2006 she has been a member of the editorial board of the international academic journal CINEMA & Cie. (editor in chief Prof. Leonardo Quaresima).

She has been a speaker to several national and international conferences (among others, University of Lugano, University of Glasgow, University of Huddersfield).
