PROFESSIONAL & ACADEMIC PROFILE
A pioneer of fundraising in Italy, Valerio Melandri is a professor at the University of Bologna, where he founded and currently directs the Master’s Program in Fundraising (since 2003). He was the first to introduce fundraising as an academic subject in an Italian university. Since 2013, he has also served as a Visiting Professor at Columbia University (New York), where he teaches “Principles and Techniques of Fundraising” at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
He has held numerous institutional roles, including elected member of the Campus Council in Forlì, Chair of the Internship Commission, member of the Teaching Committee, and Career Services Coordinator.
He also served as City Councillor for Culture in Forlì (2019) and was the organizer of TEDxForlì (2022).
