Jean Monnet Module GEMS “Gender Equality in Multilevel Systems”, University of Bologna
As a member of the research team coordinated by Prof. C. Golino, I am involved in the activities of the module devoted to the analysis of gender equality in multilevel governance systems. As part of the planned activities, I contributed to the organisation and implementation of the thematic seminar series “Space for Gender. Which Rights for Which Places”, overseeing the scientific design of the meetings and managing relations with the speakers. I also co-organised and actively participated in a workshop with stakeholders from various organisations working in the field of equal opportunities, contributing to the collection and systematisation of territorial good practices.

PNRR Research Project “GRINS. Growing Resilient Inclusive and Sustainable”, University of Bologna
As a fixed-term researcher, type A, I am involved in SPOKE 8 – Social Sustainability of the project. In the first phase of the research, I carried out a theoretical analysis of the concept of social sustainability and oversaw the collection and processing of territorial data relating to civicness, with particular attention to the distribution of non-profit organisations at provincial level. I am currently collaborating on the design of a questionnaire aimed at investigating forms of civicness and their relationship with social sustainability, with a view to conducting a nationally representative survey.

Research Project “TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE WELFARE? The Contribution of Social Work to the Ecological Transition”, University of Bologna and KU Leuven
As a postdoctoral researcher, I conducted research within the emerging paradigm of sustainable welfare. The research aims to understand how environmental and social risks interact in shaping new profiles of socio-economic vulnerability and what role social work plays in the socio-ecological transition. To this end, in addition to a theoretical review of the topic, I carried out an empirical study involving, through semi-structured interviews and focus groups, social workers from the Third Sector and the public sector.

Collaboration in Drafting the 2022–2025 Social and Health Plan of the Emilia-Romagna Region
As an expert consultant, I was appointed to carry out a study aimed at outlining the priorities of the future social and health policy agenda of the Emilia-Romagna Region. The study, carried out in collaboration with IRESS Soc. Coop. Bologna, involved a participatory process of consultation with regional policy managers, local coordinators and welfare professionals in Emilia-Romagna. The work formed the basis for the draft 2022–2025 Social and Health Plan presented to regional-level policymakers.

PRIN Research Project “CoPInG – Contrasting Poverty through Inclusive Governance. A Study on the Local Implementation of Minimum Income Scheme in Northern Italy”, University of Bologna Research Unit, Department of Sociology and Business Law
As a postdoctoral research fellow, tutor: Prof. Alessandro Martelli, within the PRIN Project “CoPInG”, project identification code: 2017KFNH4L_002, I conducted research in the field of anti-poverty policies, with a specific focus on the implementation of the minimum income scheme in force in Italy, the Reddito di cittadinanza. The fieldwork was mainly based on qualitative interviews with policymakers, social service professionals and employment centre staff involved in the implementation of the minimum income scheme, as well as with beneficiaries of the measure. The research was coordinated by Cristiano Gori, University of Trento.

As a postdoctoral research fellow, I conducted a study on the analysis of the implementation of social policies in the field of anti-poverty measures and on minimum income schemes at European level, in order to better identify the specific features of the Italian model and, more specifically, the Emilia-Romagna model.

Research Project “Culture, Lifestyles and Participatory Orientations. An In-Depth Study in the Forlì Area”, Department of Sociology and Business Law, University of Bologna
As a postdoctoral research fellow, I carried out research on the interaction between young people’s participatory orientations and cultural practices. To this end, I conducted in-depth interviews with experts and biographical interviews with young people involved in cultural activities in the Forlì area. The analytical perspective adopted explored the practices and meanings of youth participation in the artistic-cultural field in light of cultural welfare. The research was coordinated by Prof. Alessandro Martelli.

Research Project “Poverty and Resources. Placing the Poor at the Centre”, Caritas Forlì-Bertinoro
As an expert consultant, I was involved in conducting research on poverty in the Forlì area. The study involved the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data concerning beneficiaries of the Caritas Listening Centres. The analysis was aimed at drafting the 2017 Caritas Report.

Research Project “Young People and Intergenerational Equity”, Department of Sociology and Business Law, University of Bologna
As a postdoctoral researcher, I was involved in qualitative research on the living and working conditions of young self-employed workers in the Emilia-Romagna Region. The study was mainly based on biographical interviews and focus groups with young people, experts and stakeholders. The research was funded by the Legislative Assembly of the Emilia-Romagna Region and coordinated by Prof. Paolo Zurla.

Research Project “Smart Cities and Innovative Services for Citizens. Analysis and Evaluation of a Citizen’s Marketplace”, Department of Sociology and Business Law, University of Bologna
As a postdoctoral research fellow, I conducted research in the field of technological innovation for the public administration sector. The study, carried out with an interdisciplinary research team, including engineers and sociologists, was based on the creation and testing of a digital platform addressed to economic and productive actors, local authorities and citizens of the municipalities of the Bassa Romagna Union. The research was coordinated by Prof. Paolo Zurla.

Research Project “Monitoring Law 285/1997 on the Promotion of Rights and Opportunities for Children and Adolescents” – Istituto degli Innocenti, National Centre for Documentation and Analysis on Childhood and Adolescence, Ministry of Social Policies
As an expert consultant, I conducted 8 case studies in Italy with the aim of monitoring the implementation of Law 285/1997 in the reserved cities. The study was based on the collection of quantitative and qualitative data on local welfare measures addressed to children and adolescents in 8 Italian cities. The final report was presented to the Italian Parliament.

Research Project “Families’ Reasons for Dropping Out of Early Childhood Services. An Exploratory Study in Bologna” – IRESS Società Cooperativa and Province of Bologna
As an expert consultant, I carried out research aimed at understanding the reasons behind the emerging phenomenon of families dropping out of early childhood services. The study was based on focus groups with policymakers and experts in childhood policies in the Metropolitan City of Bologna.

Research Project “PoL.I.S. Policies for Social Inclusion” – IRESS Società Cooperativa
As an expert consultant, I was appointed to conduct research with beneficiaries of anti-poverty policies in the Apulia Region. The study was based on biographical interviews with beneficiaries, aimed at understanding their poverty “careers” and the effects of social policy interventions on their perception of quality of life.

GOETE Research Project “Governance of Educational Trajectories in Europe” – University of Bologna
The project, funded by the European Commission under the FP7 Programme, Grant Agreement 243868, and coordinated by Prof. Andreas Walther, University of Frankfurt, analysed pupils’ educational transitions from lower secondary to upper secondary school and the role played by local contexts, teachers, parents and peer groups. As a member of the Bologna team, I conducted a case study on a lower secondary school in Bologna, carrying out in-depth interviews and focus groups with teachers, pupils and parents.

Research Project “Mediation in the Urban Context. The Case of Médiation Citoyenne in Lyon”, Centre Max Weber – Institut de Sciences de l’Homme, Lyon
As a visiting scholar, I examined the theoretical and conceptual aspects of mediation and conducted a case study on the Lyon experience of médiation citoyenne, carrying out semi-structured interviews with mediators from two Lyon-based associations involved in the development of mediation in neighbourhood contexts.

Research Project “Empowerment and Participation” – University of Bologna
As a researcher, I was involved in carrying out research on forms of bottom-up participation in Bologna. Specifically, in addition to examining the theoretical coordinates of participation, I conducted qualitative interviews with experts and stakeholders aimed at exploring the relationships between citizens’ initiatives and local institutions. The research project was coordinated by Prof. Alessandro Tolomelli, Department of Education Studies, University of Bologna.

Research Project “Socio-Economic Conditions, Lifestyles and Expectations of Well-Being in the Province of Forlì-Cesena” – University of Bologna
As an interviewer, I was involved in the face-to-face administration of a questionnaire on the socio-economic conditions of the population residing in the Province of Forlì-Cesena, as part of a study funded by the same Province and carried out by the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Bologna. Subsequently, I participated in the statistical analysis of the questionnaires and in the preparation of the final research report. The research was coordinated by Prof. Paolo Zurla.

Doctoral Research Project “Reading the Urban World through Neighbourhood Mediation Practices. The Italian Case in Comparative Perspective” – University of Verona
As a PhD candidate, I carried out research on forms of sociality in residential contexts, with particular attention to the dimension of conflict and conflict-management practices. Specifically, I analysed the theoretical dimension of mediation and its practical implications for the construction and/or repair of social ties. As part of the study, I conducted semi-structured interviews with mediators working in Italy in the field of neighbourhood mediation.

Research Project “Reconciling Work and Welfare in Europe”, RECWOWE, European Social Observatory, Brussels
As a research intern, I conducted a study mainly based on documentary analysis of policies aimed at promoting the reconciliation of work and family life in European Union Member States from a gender perspective. The study was aimed at producing a comparative report on European countries and contributed to the formulation of policy recommendations for the European Commission. The research was carried out under the supervision of Dalila Ghailani, senior researcher at the European Social Observatory in Brussels.
