Academic studies

From October 2015 to March 2019: PhD in Translation, Interpreting and Intercultural studies, curriculum in Interpreting, obtained on 26th March 2019 at the University of Bologna, Department of Interpreting and Translation (DIT) of Forlì. The thesis was evaluated as excellent with honours. Project title: "Working memory and selective attention in interpreting: cognitive development and improvement strategies".

From January to April 2017: research stay at the University of Granada, funded by Marco Polo funds. Bibliographical research into the domains of interpreting and cognitive psychology, exchange of ideas with researchers of these fields about research methodology, participation in seminars at the Department of Translation and Interpreting and at the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC-UGR).

From October 2012 to July 2015: Master’s degree in Interpreting with the mark of 107/110 obtained on 14th July 2015 at the University of Bologna, Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators, campus of Forlì. Languages: English and French. Thesis title: “The translation challenges of premodified noun phrases in simultaneous interpreting from English into Italian: a corpus-based study on EPIC”.

From November 2009 to July 2012: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Interlinguistic Communication with the mark of 110/110 with honours obtained on 17th July 2012 at the University of Trieste, Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators. Thesis title: “Telling Little Women to children: contrastive analysis of two adaptations”.

Academic research

September 2020 – August 2022: post-doctoral research grant (one year, renewed for a second year) awarded by the Department of Interpreting and Translation of the University of Bologna. Project: "Interpreting and cognition. Towards a psychometric framework to test working memory, selective attention and split attention in interpreting-specific tasks". Tutor: Professor Mariachiara Russo.

October 2022 – February 2023: post-doctoral research fellow in the framework of the PRIN project “The informalisation of English language learning through the media: language input, learning outcomes and sociolinguistic attitudes from an Italian perspective”. Tutor: Professor Francesca Bianchi.

AY 2020-2021 (second semester): participation in the project of Educational Interpreting of the Department of Interpreting and Translation of the University of Bologna. Simultaneous interpreting IT>EN of all or part of the lessons of the courses “Cultural and Intercultural Heritage“ (15 hours) and Global justice” (30 hours) at the Department of Cultural Heritage of Ravenna; “History of Eastern Europe” (3 hours) at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of Forlì; simultaneous interpreting EN>IT of a lesson of the course “Science of Climate Change and Climate Actions” (3 hours) at the Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering of Bologna. Adjunct professor for the teaching activity (80 hours) of the course “Laboratory of English Language II (groups 1, 2, 3 and 4)”, Single Cycle Degree in Primary Teacher Education, second year.

Adjunct professor for the teaching activity (80 hours) of the courses “English Language (L)” and “English Language (LD)”, Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and International Relations.

AY 2019-2020 (second semester): University of Urbino Carlo Bo, Department of Fundamental and Applied Sciences. Adjunct professor for the teaching activity (32 hours) of the course “Foreign Language: English” at the Master’s Degree in Philosophy of Information – Knowledge Theory and Management. The course was taken also by students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and from the Single Cycle Degree in Preservation and Restoration of the Cultural Heritage.

AY 2019-2020 (second semester): University of Urbino Carlo Bo, Department of Biomolecular Sciences. Adjunct professor for the teaching activity (20 hours) of the course “Language Laboratory of Scientific English” for the students of the Master’s Degree in Physical Education for Health and Prevention and the Master’s Degree in Sport Sciences.

Teaching assistance (4 hours) during two classes of telephone interpreting (Italian-English and Italian-Spanish) during the Summer School of Remote Interpreting (11th-16th June 2018). Teaching activity in the framework of the three-year Erasmus+ project on remote interpreting SHaping the Interpreters of the Future and of Today (SHIFT).
