I graduated in Biotechnology from the University of Bologna in 2011, earning an international Master’s in Bioinformatics (2013) and a PhD in Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Sciences (2018).
From 2014 to 2018, I developed algorithms for Systems Biology at the Bologna Biocomputing Group, focusing on protein interaction networks and integrating proteomic and metabolomic data.
I currently research at the Animal and Food Genomics Group, integrating omics data (genomics, metabolomics, metagenomics) in livestock and aquaculture species. My work applies machine learning and animal phenomics approaches to study complex traits and support genetic improvement. I also use genomic approaches in beekeeping, environmental monitoring, and food authentication.
