Salvatore Nesci born in 1982, married, four children. He is Associate Professor (SDS BIO/10 - Biochemistry) at the University of Bologna.

Research interests and skills

Great interest in the mitochondrial bioenergetics, in particular for the enzymatic catalysis of F1FO-ATPase and the electron transport chain.

Scientific expertise acquired:

The mitochondrial F1FO-ATPase activity and kinetics and mitochondrial respiration analysis.

Proteomic techniques to the characterization of protein thiols modification in mitochondria.

Head Space Solid Phase MicroExtraction (HS-SPME) coupled with gas chromatography (GC) for organotin analysis.

The endocrine system, detoxification mechanisms and lipid metabolism analysis.
