Keywords: Biochemistry Bioenergetics ATP synthase Mitochondria Cellular metabolism Mitochondrial permeability transition pore

My main research interest is mitochondrial bioenergetics, in particular:

  • catalytic mechanism of F1FO-ATPase or ATP synthase due to aminoacid modifications - particularly thiol groups of cysteines - in mitochondria treated with chemical reagents;
  • comparative study of the catalytic activity of F1FO-ATPase Mg and Ca-dependent and physiological role in the mitochondria;
  • mitochondrial respiration as a result of changes in the redox state of thiol groups;
  • study of cellular energy metabolism.
