The instructor welcomes anthropology/ethnography-based thesis projects in the following areas:

• various socio-cultural dynamics related to migration (in countries of origin, transit, and destination); diasporic and transnational relations; migration and aging; professionals and practices involved in migration management within socio-educational policies and services;

• phenomena of discrimination, exploitation, and structural inequalities, especially those linked to social and descent-based stratifications (e.g., post-slavery contexts, caste systems, etc.);

• concepts of uncertainty and potential in relation to development, economy, and human resources (education, work, leisure, etc.).

Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis proposals (particularly for students in the Educatore Sociale e Culturale program and the Master’s program in Italian Language and Culture for Foreigners)
Students interested in writing their thesis under my supervision are kindly asked to take the following guidelines into account:

• As first supervisor, I generally only accept empirical theses, meaning those that include ethnographic field research.

• When requesting a meeting or office hour appointment, please attach a brief thesis proposal (1–2 pages) outlining: the topic, objectives/questions, methodology, project phases, and timeline. If uncertain, you may request a preliminary orientation meeting (see Timeline below).

• Timeline: Plan for at least 6 months (Bachelor’s thesis) or 9 months (Master’s thesis) from the first meeting to the final upload deadline.
