Biography : Monica Perotto, born in Forlì,
Italy, and living in Forlì, via Carlo A. Dalla Chiesa 21, 47121
Forlì, graduated in Russian and English languages at the
University of Venice, Italy with a final thesis on: “Teaching Russian language in the USSR: sociolinguistic
and educational problems”.
University teaching experience : from 1992 to 2001
contract professor of Russian language and translation at the High
School for Interpreters and Translators in Forlì, Bologna
University, Italy.
From 2002 to 2006 research fellow at the
University of Chieti-Pescara, Italy.
From November 1st 2006
is research fellow and professor of Russian Language at the faculty
of Foreign languages and Literatures, University of Bologna,
Italy.
Current academic tasks : professor of Russian
language and linguistics at the second level degree courses.
Professor of Russian morphology and syntax at the third year
courses of the first level. Member of the PhD board on Linguistics
and Philology at the University of Chieti-Pescara, Italy up to
2008, from 2009 member of the European PhD board DESE, University
of Bologna. Member of the AIS Directory Board (Association of
Italian Slavists).
Knowledge of the Russian language : C2 level. I attended
professional courses at the Pushkin Institut of Russian language,
Moscow, and linguistic courses at the State University of
S.Petersburg, Russia. I have worked as interpreter and translator
for several years for different public and private institutions. I
have taught for 6 years professional translation from Russian to
Italian language at the High School for Interpreters in Forlì,
Bologna University. I am a linguistic expert of the Court in
Forlì.
Scientific interests : sociology of Russian language and
in particular the following sociolinguistic problems of
Russian language variation:
1. Situation of the Russian language in the RF and CIS
(“postsovetskoe prostranstvo”), problems of language
maintenance and shift, language policy and planning.
2. Situation of the Russian language in the last emigration wave
in Italy and abroad. Speaking strategies of bilingual Russian
emigrants. Dynamics of bilingualism and Russian studies about
it. I have several publications in this field and I
have published a book called “Language and Identity in the
Russian speaking population, living in Italy”.
3. Text analysis. I am working on Russian language for special
purposes, linguistic features of economic, scientific and
legal text on a comparative base. This is also my teaching matter
in my university lessons.
4. Selftranslation in Russia and CIS (in the Soviet and
Postsoviet period); language policy and selftranslation.
